From the principal:

On behalf of the Reynaud School community, I would like to say thank you to all active stakeholders who have stepped up and stepped into our building to assist us in “working the work”. You are tremendously appreciated.

We are completing our first semester, making note of the many successes that we are now able to celebrate together. We Look forward to the continued growth and academic success of our students.

We have determined the four targeted priority principles for scholastic growth are (1) improving instruction in all contents and grade levels, (2) making our assessments more authentic, which will realistically prepare students for academic success, (3) Professional Development and (4) Effective Planning. We invite you to assist us with the process. Your presence in our school and participation on various committees and/or teams we have in place is welcomed.

We are newly implementing a Positive Behavior Support program which is a school-wide approach to creating an atmosphere of self-discipline and respect. It not only fosters a specific and well thought discipline system, but also encourages organized celebrations for the work that students, teachers, and staff are doing well. When you come by to see us ask about the PBS program!

Please sign your children up for the Supplemental Education Services (SES), professional tutoring that is being offered to us free of charge by professional tutoring organizations recognized by the state of Louisiana as credible agencies. These sessions will help to equip students with basic conceptual knowledge that is needed to meet the expectations for standardized testing. It’s not too late to sign up!

Yours in education,

Carolyn Thomas, Principal
