What Is Important About the Presidential Election to You?

What is important about the presidential election to me? First of all, someday I will be a voter. The presidential election will effect my education. Banning assault weapons is needed so my community will be safe. The Iraq War needs to end and I need to know what the candidates suggest we do about the war so that strong, fighting American soldiers can come home. These are just some of the reasons the presidential election is important to me.

To be a competent voter, I need to know all about the presidential elections and how the candidates voted. Someday, someone I look up to and admire might be running in the presidential elections. I will be a voter in six years, and then I will be eligible to vote for someone I admire and agree with on these topics. When I turn eighteen, I will go and register to be a voter. Then I will vote for the candidate who agrees with my opinion on the issues that affect my community.

No child should be left behind on their education, because everyone needs their education as life goes on, for things like, getting a job to pay the bills, cooking, helping kids with their homework, and doing taxes. It is not only the children who need an education; it is the adults, too. They need to know their math just in case someone tries to cheat them out of their money. They need to know how to read to apply for a job and sign the application. You also need to know about Social Studies just in case in life you want to be a lawyer, judge, or a politician. Every single child in the universe deserves an opportunity to learn. So, I need to know about the issues dealing with education that the presidential candidates are debating about during the year.

Above all, I think that banning assault weapons is an excellent idea. Criminals use assault weapons to murder people, rob stores, and force people to do things they would not like to do. But, I am having second thoughts about banning them for the police to use. I think that only police should be allowed to use the weapons. Most of the candidates, such as Clinton and Obama, support the idea of banning the assault weapons. Knowing that these candidates are supporting the idea of banning the assault weapons will make my community a safe place.

When my mother and I discuss the Iraq war, she tells me that an enormous amount of soldiers are dying and losing their body parts. Therefore, the war needs to end, so that people will stop losing their family members. If I could vote, I would vote for Obama, above all of the other candidates. Barak Obama agrees with the idea of withdrawing soldiers from the war in Iraq.

Some of the information I have gathered comes from newspapers, my parents, television, and the internet. Although I know that some of what I have learned is true, some of it is also fiction. Before I would vote, I would be certain that I am voting for the right candidate. Keeping up with all of the information through the presidential elections will eventually be quite useful in the future when I am eligible to vote.

In other words, the presidential election is important to me because it affects my life and the way I live. In the future, I would like to see a safe community, a well-educated society, and a peaceful universe. And I can make these things happen if I vote for the candidates who agree with me on all of the issues.
